Even PD is going virtual!

With the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers all over the country have had to teach virtually, and it looks like this might continue. To that end, Northern Buckeye has revamped some of our professional development offerings to help educators learn about technology, even when we can’t be there together.

We wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some of our virtual services. Remember, all of our professional learning is available at no additional cost for our member districts. Not sure if your district is a member? Check this list.

Virtual PD Days

In response to COVID-19 pandemic, Northern Buckeye PD has been holding Virtual Professional Development days for our member districts which are developed in consultation with district leadership. Many districts have chosen to have a variety of sessions offered during their scheduled days. We have done several multi-day PDs including some half-day opportunities.

We have a range of sessions that can be offered with a live presenter that run typically for 20 minutes. The remaining 10 minutes of a half hour block is devoted to answering questions. Participants can choose from 3 different tracks and sessions are scheduled in half hour blocks.

On-Demand Virtual PD

Northern Buckeye has developed a fully on-demand PD catalog that can be curated into collections that can meet your district need for training in Remote Learning.

Most sessions are approximately 20 minutes in length and cover a range of topics of interest to teachers who want to learn more about using technology tools for remote or blended learning. These sessions have been recorded from live sessions presented to districts who participated in our Virtual PD days.

Virtual Tech Coaching

Tech coaching sessions can be setup on a monthly or as needed basis. Teachers can work one-on-one with a tech coach to get help with integration of technology into their instruction. If you are needing some individualized help then this free service is available to teachers and other district personnel from districts who are full NWOCA members. Virtual tech coaching allows you to receive one-on-one training and troubleshooting. It allows us to meet online in Zoom, at your convenience. You can share your screen with the trainer so that he or she can see exactly what you are seeing, and help you.
